Virtual Volunteer Opportunities

By: Mehak Dureja, SDSU Chapter Member

With fall semester/quarter online, it is difficult to find volunteering opportunities that will help us prepare our resumes for grad school or medical school. Here are some ways you can volunteer virtually or to help others in need during this pandemic: 1. Operation Warm has a list of 25 ways to volunteer virtually https://www.operationwarm.org/blog/25-volunteer-jobs-to-do-from-home/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=pre_health_sciences_newsletter&utm_term=2020-03-18 2. Paper Airplanes allows volunteers to tutor online to “bridge gaps in language, higher education, and professional skills training for conflict-affected individuals” https://www.paper-airplanes.org/ 3. Crisis Text Line: https://www.crisistextline.org/become-a-volunteer/ 4. Meals to Meals: allows you to volunteer and deliver groceries or meals to people who are unable to leave their house https://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=https://www.mealsonwheelsamerica.org/americaletsdolunch&ust=1597362840000000&usg=AOvVaw31kuYmwMJ6AXg5z_DY6mHg&hl=en&source=gmail 5. 7 cups: allows you to listen to people and provide emotional support to those who are in need of someone to talk to. https://www.7cups.com/
